Maple Bento Box
This Bento Box is inspired by beautiful Japanese bento boxes often seen finished in a hard lacquer.
Made from a single piece of curly Birdseye Maple, my Bento Box is a place to store anything that is sacred. The grain wraps continuously around its circumference. The interior of the box is made from Douglas Fir and the lid and bottom are clad in aromatic cedar.
I chose not to use any oils or artificial sealants on the Bento Box. Choosing instead to use bees was and burnishing on the exterior.
